Valley Project Community Rooms
Welcome to the Valley Community Rooms. The rooms consist of three rooms of various sizes available for booking at various times. Check out our calendar to see what's on in the rooms, and find out more about the rooms and the terms of use below.
The community rooms are at the northern end of North East Valley Normal School at 262 North Road.
Drop in to our reception and community hub during opening hours of 9am - 2pm Monday to Thursday. Reception is closed Friday and on public and school holidays. The community rooms can still be hired when reception is closed as long as bookings are made prior.
Rates below are per hour, including GST.

The Fred Hollows Room
Size - suitable for larger groups and group activities. Up to approx. 30 people. 10 maximum for physical distancing

Basic cooking facilities (microwave and grill, no hotplates or oven)

Te Putake Room
Please note, this room is also used a the community hub/drop in and is an accessway for staff to use other building facilities. Not suitable for private gatherings during opening hours. With the exception of open community groups, this room is only available for booking outside of our usual opening hours.
Size - suitable for meetings or small groups. Table that seats 8 people. 5 max for physical distancing

The Clinic/Quiet Room
Currently utilised by the public health nurse, a counsellor, and others.
Ideal for the provision of health and social services, or other one-on-one sessions.

Use of the Valley Project Rooms
The Valley Project has an agreement with North East Valley Normal School for the use of the buildings.
Primary focus:
The school and the wider education community for their family/school/communities activities.
Asset-based community initiatives that are supported by the Valley Project.
An office space for the Valley Project.
A safe and welcoming drop-in space for people to meet.
Individuals/informal groups who are wanting to work on creating some form of community development activity.
Community groups within the valley who are working on building social capital within North East Valley.
Place for resource people to be accessed by the valley community.
Secondary focus:
Place for community groups/ organisations in the valley who require a base.
